Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for disagreement against the umpire’s decision during his team’s match against UP Warriors at Ika Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday. The incident took place at the end of the 19th over of the UP Warriors innings, when umpire Ajitesh Egypt informed Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur that only three fielder could be out of the final over due to a slow over rate. Unhappy with the verdict, she was found busy in a short argument with the umpire, fellow player Amelia Care was also involved in the debate.

BCCI fined the next day of birthday

Harmanpreet was a fight

The reason was the match played between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriors in WPL. The match was held in Lucknow on Thursday, March 6, in which Mumbai registered an easy victory. But when Mumbai was close to the win in this match, something happened that shocked everyone. The incident took place in the 19th over of the UP innings, when the umpire told Harmanpreet that his team was behind the schedule and in this case he would be allowed to land only 3 fielders outside the 30-yard circle.

The Mumbai captain did not like the decision and objected to the umpire. Meanwhile, Mumbai bowler Amelia car also came and started giving his opinion. All this was going on when UP batsman Sophie Ekleston also got there and started saying something to the umpire in this regard. But Harmanpreet did not like Sophie’s intervention and he called the UP player something good and bad.

WPL made a statement

“Harmanpreet Kaur confessed to the Level 1 offense under Section 2.8, which is related to disagreeing on the umpire’s decision during the match,” WPL said in a release. “For the Level 1 breach of the Code of Code, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.”
